About the author

Bob McNeill is an award-winning musician.  He is originally from Scotland, a small, wet, chilly but very pretty country near the north pole.  A former science researcher, he worked for the BBC before a visiting fellowship at the University of Otago persuaded him to move to New Zealand, a small, much drier and equally pretty country near Antarctica.

Michies Crossing is his first novel.  He wrote the book episodically, after visiting many of the locations while traveling around the South Island indulging his passions for music, photography and cycling.
